Respect for Mother Nature:
The problem of global warming is steadily growing more serious year by year as the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases. Protecting the global environment is a task of the utmost urgency, which can only be achieved through rapid adoption of environmentally friendly, "green" energy sources. As inhabitants of the global village, every one of us has a duty to safeguard this beautiful planet. We have the capability to develop clean energy, cut back on the use of fossil fuels, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and mitigate the impact of the greenhouse effect; by doing so, we will be helping to create a clean, pollution-free living environment for humanity.
Innovation and Creation:
To achieve success, a business enterprise must always be seeking to move beyond the status quo, and must constantly strive for innovation. It must instill a passion for learning into the heart of every employee; by constantly accumulating knowledge and new capabilities, an enterprise can throw off the constraints imposed by existing business models, and achieve outstanding results in every aspect of its operations. Only by overcoming the restrictions that affect each stage in its operations, creating new possibilities and uncovering new potential can an enterprise maintain competitive advantage in the long term.
Pursuit of Excellence:
The search for excellence is not an optional extra; it is a vital prerequisite for success. The motive power for achieving sustainable growth derives from an enterprise's commitment to constantly challenge itself and strive for perfection in every aspect of its operations. A firm must demand more of itself than even its customers expect of it if it is to succeed in providing the best possible quality and the best possible service. At Gintech Energy Corporation, we are constantly monitoring developments in the global energy industry, learning from the leaders in green energy technology, and working towards our goal of making Gintech a truly world-class enterprise.

Of various different types of alternative energy sources that are being developed today, Gintech Energy Corporation has chosen to focus on solar cell production. Working constantly to upgrade our production technology and increase our production capacity, Gintech has also formed a number of valuable strategic partnerships. Gintech continues to make steady progress towards the goal of establishing itself as a leading player in the global photovoltaics industry. By promoting the adopting of solar electricity generation, Gintech is working to bring the world closer to the day when solar energy can replace traditional energy sources for power generation purposes.
Mid-term goal:
Gintech is working to make solar power a truly mainstream energy source by 2015. Solar cell manufacturers are continuing to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic conversion, while also extending equipment lifespan and bringing production costs down. As the silicon materials and system installation markets come to be characterized by free competition, it will be possible to bring the cost of solar electricity generating equipment down to under US$2.50 per watt by 2015. The cost of generating electricity using solar power will fall from US$0.49 per kWh to just US$0.16, significantly lower than the cost of electricity generation using traditional methods in most OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) member nations. Once solar power is cheaper than electricity generated by traditional methods, demand for solar electricity generation will begin to grow rapidly all over the world.
Long-term goal:
In the future, Gintech will continue to dedicate itself to solar energy R&D and to expanding its production capacity, while forming partnerships both with upstream makers and downstream manufacturers. By 2030, Gintech aims to make solar electricity as cheap as electricity generated by nuclear power stations. Once that threshold has been crossed, solar energy will rapidly become the main source of electric power in every part of the world where sufficient sunlight is available.
In 30 years, we anticipate that solar energy will account for over 30% of all electricity generated worldwide, and that installed solar electricity generation capacity will have increased to around 5,000 GW.
5,000 GW of installed solar electricity generation capacity can produce approximately 7.3 trillion kWh of electricity every year. This will enable the world to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 4.38 billion tons a year; this figure is roughly equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide that could be captured annually by 13 million square kilometers of Chinese cedar forest, and would create the same environmental benefits as the creation of 87.5 Amazonian rain forest preservation zones with a combined area of 150,000 square kilometers.
The figures presented above were calculated as follows:
Global installed solar electricity generation capacity in 30 years is 5,000GW
= 7,300,000,000,000 kWh
(5,000,000,000 kWh x 4hr of daylight per day x 365 days)
= a reduction in annual CO
emissions of 4,380,000,000,000 kg
(7,300,000,000,000 kWh x 0.6 kg)
= 13,129,307 km
of Chinese cedar forest
(4,380,000,000,000kg ÷ 14.4kg ÷ 23,167 Chinese cedars per km
)
= 87.5 Amazonian rain forest preservation zones
(13,129,307 km
÷ 150,000 km
)
(On the average, every kWh of electricity produced by a photovoltaic system can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 0.6 kg. A single Chinese cedar tree can capture approximately 14.4 kg of carbon dioxide per annum; the figures given above assume a distance
of 6.57 m between trees.)
