	To approach higher conversion efficiency of solar cells, Gintech Energy Corporation, a global leading cell manufacturer, announces its competitive high efficiency solar cells “Diamond Series” at SNEC (2013) PV POWER EXPO, Shanghai, China, May 2013.<br />

	Gintech announces the successful development of its Diamond multicrystalline cell with a peak conversion efficiency of 19.5%, measured by TÜV Rheinland. Gintech’s Diamond series breakthrough lies in the company’s ability to mass-produce cells that completely exceed market average efficiency by one percent. With the performance of Diamond, Gintech believes this product will be revolutionary within the PV market.&nbsp;</p>

	The benefits of Diamond series are its compatibility to present module processes while maintaining similar reliability of the mainstream products. Cells with high power output are the key for the next generation of products. With Diamond, module customers can achieve 270W in 60-cell multicrystalline modules. This results in promising benefits in the cost-effective solution of the PV system.</p>

	Ministry of Economic Affairs(MOEA) Will Fund Gintech and Utech Jointly to Undertake R&amp;D Projects on “Mono-like Crystalline Silicon Wafers and High Efficiency Copper Plating Solar Cells" Research.</h3>
<p>
	Under the steep competition of solar industry, producing high-efficiency and low-cost products are the primary missions for Gintech Energy Corporation (Gintech). Leading by Gintech, together with Utech Solar R&amp;D teams, the researches on developing high-efficiency mono-like wafers and copper-plating technologies on cells were undertaken.</p>

	The copper-plating technologies, once successful, can be an alternate for silver-plating conductive method. The expected efficiency will reach 19.0% with 4.6 W/pc (6-inch) output. The R&amp;D projects have been accepted by Department of Industrial Technology of MOEA and will be funded as part of MOEA’s Industrial R&amp;D and Innovative Projects.</p>
